In 7th grade I was assigned a project to either write something creative or create a video. I shot and edited a skating video using my Dad’s VHS camera (giant) and used two VCRs and my CD player to edit and add music. Although she was supportive, my teacher wasn’t a fan of the Smashing Pumpkins soundtrack, but it was a hit with my classmates. This is where my love of video production started. The challenge of that educator and the allowance to let me push boundaries gave me the opportunity to explore my creativity and get audience feedback. The support of my parents to create without limits shaped my entire adult life.
Video is now the most dominant form of media and I’m so thankful to have been encouraged to learn about it.
